Attracting God’s Attention

‘Cornelius replied, “Four days ago I was praying in my house…[at] three o’clock in the afternoon. Suddenly, a man in dazzling clothes was standing in front of me. He told me, ‘Cornelius, your prayers have been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been noticed by God!’ – Acts 10:30-31 (NLT)

True discipleship must include a prayer memorial unto God. What did Cornelius do that caused God to induce the supernatural? Cornelius’s consistent prayer life and generosity were constantly before God – they could not be forgotten. They stood before God like a lasting memorial offering, leading to divine intervention. Cornelius’ prayer and genuinely giving of gifts to the poor caught God’s attention.

There are certain things that God would give you after you have created a prayer memorial to Him. Because of Cornelius’ memorial, his family and friends received salvation. God remembered both his prayers and his charitable giving – not just the acts themselves, but the heart behind them, prompting Him to act by sending Peter with the Gospel.

In order to get you saved, God creates extraordinary circumstances to make it happen. The Gentile Cornelius received a fuller revelation of Christ.

Do you want to see your loved ones receive Jesus as their Saviour? Start a prayer memorial. Pray and read your Bible every day. Share Him with others. Let it become a lifestyle. It may take some time (maybe many years) for others to accept Him; at times, you may feel discouraged; do not give up. Allow your conduct to become a memorial before God.

The Holy Spirit will convict and act when He’s ready. Keep praying God will save them.

Those who learn to fear the Lord will have His attention. He will listen to them. God will listen to those who fear Him, and record their names (Malachi 3:16-18).

The angel was sent to Cornelius because of his memorial to God. Positive words and actions also build a memorial. Take heart, child of God, when you pray and speak positively, you are building a memorial unto God. And because of this memorial, many others can be saved.
